Make Your Mark Competition Finalists

"Make Your Mark" Competition Finalists // 19.04.2011

Cereplast, the industry-leading provider of natural plastics, alternative plastics and renewable plastics, amongst others, have narrowed their search down for a new symbol to just three designs.

In January the company started a nationwide graphic design competition titled "Make Your Mark". They sought a symbol representing bioplastics that would show that the materials used were green and bio-based.

With a prize of $25,000 (c.£15,322), the graphic design competition was open to residents of the United States, with the winning symbol being used in a similar fashion to that of the iconic recycling symbol.

Four months on and 1,500 graphic design entries later, there have been more than 2.8m votes in order to reach a shortlist of 200 submissions.

The three final symbol designs have been selected by the judges panel of Ryan Ford (Creative Directory of deviantART), Laura Howard (graphic design student) and Silas Pandori (New York-based graphic designer).

The winning design is set to be announced this Thursday in Los Angeles.
